Building A T-Shaped Marketing Skill Set

Building A T-Shaped Marketing Skill Set

About a year ago, Rand from Moz wrote this article about the T-Shaped Marketer. Ever since I read it, I have spent time thinking about this both on an individual level for an SEO expert, as well as from an overall perspective for an organization that is focused on SEO. So, in this post I would like to talk about what the ‘T-Shaped Marketer’ concept means for Volume Nine.  First and foremost, we are a service organization. That means our consistent, #1 goal is…

V9 Participates in MS Golf Tourney

Volume Nine was proud to participate in the 4th Annual MS Golf Tournament hosted at the Glenmoor Country Club.  We were a last minute addition to the event, but we got our foursome registered before the tournament sold out with 36 teams. Sponsors included Golfsmith, BlueSky, Chick-Fil-A, and a slew of others.  There were plenty of door prizes along with bagpipers, dinner, live music along with both a live and silent auction. The tournament is hosted by Mark Kreger and…

Denver Agencies’ #IceBucketChallenge Goes Viral

Denver Agencies’ #IceBucketChallenge Goes Viral

Earlier this week on Monday, August 11th the team at Volume Nine participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge. We nominated three other local agencies – Cactus, Karsh Hagan, and Booyah Advertising –  to take on the challenge,  and Cactus quickly responded with a video and then challenged three three new local businesses. Shortly thereafter, the Denver Egotist picked up our story. The ALS awareness campaign all began with Pete Frates, a Boston College baseball player, and has taken over social media…

#IceBucketChallenge – Volume Nine Donates to ALS

We made a donation to the cause and then called out Booyah Advertising, Cactus and Karsh Hagan to participate in the challenge as well. We donated $15 per person that participated – and we challenge the other agencies to do the same! The Ice Bucket Challenge is a movement to raise awareness of ALS or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also referred to as Lou…

Picnics, Kickball, and Selfies

It’s that time of year again to enjoy the greatest holiday and sporting event known to man. I’m not talking about the Fourth of July and the World Cup, I am referring to the annual Volume Nine picnic and kickball game. Yes, this was one for the ages. There was classic Denver weather, including sunshine and blue skies periodically interrupted by dark clouds and sprinkles. There was incredible food, brought in by local favorite Tocabe. There were even celebrity guests…

Denver Bike to Work Day 2014

Denver Bike to Work Day 2014

A group of V9ers pedaled their way to the office today as part of Denver’s Bike to Work Day celebrations.  While some V9 employees bike into work regularly, we love the extra camaraderie of biking to work with so many other people on this festive day. Throughout Denver, bike paths and businesses set up breakfast stations, and mini bicycling festivals for pedal commuters to enjoy.  It’s always nice to enjoy some fresh air and exercise before work, and we think…

V9 & Booyah’s Day Off – Rockies Style

V9 & Booyah’s Day Off – Rockies Style

It was almost like Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Just without the parade, lunch with Abe Froman (The Sausage King of Chicago), and a Ferrari crashing into the woods. Oh, and the Dean of Students Presidents and CEOs knew all about the day’s shenanigans (they didn’t just happen to catch all their employees on TV at a game). In fact, those cool cats set the whole thing up – muchas gracias Troy Lerner and Chuck Aikens! So I guess the day June 12, 2014 was absolutely nothing like…

V9 & Booyah: Ad2 Kickball 2014

Well friends, it’s mid-June and yet another Ad2 Kickball Game has come and gone. Like every other year, the day was a bit of a roller coaster ride hitting both highs and lows. So let’s review! Starting with the lows (there aren’t many – it was a great day)! LOWS  Let’s just get this out of the way, we did not make it to the championship. No taps for the kegs. Why God, why???? Super strong wind gusts. (p.s. The wind lasted for…
